Dheekshith says, “Mugguru Monagalllu is a comic suspense thriller, in which I play a speech-impaired librarian, who communicates using sign language. His life takes drastic turn when he is linked to a murder case. As preparation for the role, I learnt to sign from a teacher who deals with speech-and-hearing impaired people. I also met a few people with such impairment to understand their behaviors and mannerisms, especially in terms of body language. Though the title has been borrowed from a 1994 Chiranjeevi starrer, there is no connection between the stories."

Meanawhile, Dheekshith, who is spending the lockdown back home in Kundapura, also has the Kannada films

Sheegremeva Kalyana Prapthirasthu

and

KTM

in the pipeline. “If everything had gone as per plan, these two movies would have released this year. We are looking at completing principal photography of both films when lockdown relaxations come into force,” he says.
