Dhanush suggested my name to Vetrimaran for Polladhavan: Ramya

For Ramya, this week has been rather eventful. After the muhurta of her comeback film in Kannada, the actor headed to Chennai for a reunion with the team of Polladhavan that celebrated 15 years of the blockbuster film recently. “It was in this film that Dhanush and I met and we remain friends till today. It was he who suggested my name for the film. Gautham Menon had showed him a scene that I had shot with Surya as part of my audition and that’s how it all began. Vetri Sir (director Vetrimaran) and I are still in touch and we do discuss films, but we also discuss politics,” she laughs. It was a great catch-up and I didn’t know GV Prakash was only 19 when he composed the music for Polladhavan. What a genius, it’s one of the best BGM’s ever,” she tells us. The hit Minnalgal Koothadum was shot in Chikmagalur, she recalls. “Vetri Sir mentioned he has written the script of Polladhavan 2 and the leads are so busy, let’s see if that happens,” she adds.
