Dhananjaya to be back as anti-hero in his next

Director Shashank Soghal talks about directing Dhananjaya's next
After impressing the audiences and critics alike with his debut feature film, Daredevil Musthafa, director Shashank Soghal is all set to direct Dhananjaya in his next. “The debut experience is always special. We are fearless, as we don’t come with any baggage. Also, winning an award for the debut film makes it even more special. But the second film is a different ball game. In fact, had Dhananjaya not presented Daredevil Musthafa, it would not have gotten the kind of visibility it did. He is one of the rare actor-filmmakers who understands the core of the script and the pulse of the director. He is very hands-on and easy to work with,” shares Shashank.
“Dhananjaya plays a character named Jingo. The entire film is set in a fictional village, and all the names in the place are very unique. He plays a gram panchayat president, who is celebrated in the hamlet. As he plays an eccentric person, his character has a lot of comic elements as well. After many years, Dhananjaya will be back as an anti-hero in this project,” Shashank says.
“The script really baffled me, as it is something very unconventional, at least for Kannada cinema. There is a murder mystery, investigative drama, and a blend of a couple of genres. Dhananjaya listened to the script, and not only agreed to be a part of it, but is also backing the project. He has always backed unconventional projects; he has a unique sense, which gives confidence to the directors,” he adds.
