Despite big-buck OTT offers, Vikrant Rona will release in cinema halls
At times like these, it’s tempting to take the OTT route for film releases, but the makers of Kichcha Sudeep-starrer, Vikrant Rona, prefer to stick to a “proper theatrical release”.
One of the most anticipated pan Indian films, Vikrant Rona, which is directed by Anup Bhandari and has Jacqueline Fernandez in a cameo, was scheduled for a February-24 release. But, with the current weekend curfew and 50 per cent occupancy, are there any change in plans?
Producer Jack Manjunath says, "It is true that we have been receiving some really good offers for direct online releases as it is a film that created a buzz nationally.

But the film has seen nearly three years of hard work to ensure it is a world class 3D release. Hence, while the prices being offered are tempting, we are waiting for a proper theatrical release to ensure everyone sees our vision the way we intended them to."
The film team has not yet taken any decision on pushing the release date as yet, since they are hopeful that the current measures will help contain the spread of the virus.
However, they did have to change their plans with regard to promotions. "We had a teaser that was planned for a January-11 release where it would have been played along with all the big festive releases across different languages. But, with most of them postponing their releases, we were forced change that plan and have deferred our teaser launch for now."
Vikrant Rona is a 3D, action and adventure family drama that is set is the past. The cast also includes Nirup Bhandari, Neeta Ashok and Vasuki Vaibhav, among others. The film will be released in all four south Indian languages and in Hindi too.
