Film Director and Producer Guru Deshpande's ambitious

anthology

film has had its first-ever poster released earlier today (12th January). Titled '

Pentagon

', the project comprises five different filmmakers and stories with Guru Deshpande serving as its producer and creative head. Actor Darling Krishna launched the title poster of the film a couple of hours ago through his social media.

The title poster bears the cutline Death ends a life, not a relationship, which could be, assumedly, the underlying and uniting theme of the film. Having spoken to Bangalore Times back in November 2020, producer Guru Deshpande had stated that the film will boast of a few popular actors and technicians whose names shall be revealed shortly. In the same vein, the motion poster of 'Pentagon' will be revealed on the 18th of January, 2021 and one could expect more insight into the five filmmakers involved in the project at the time. Each of the five stories in the film was penned during the lockdown.

Interestingly, yet another anthology project (untitled as yet) with filmmakers Shashank, Yogaraj Bhat, Pawan Kumar, Jayathirtha, and

K.M. Chaitanya

is currently being put together. A few days ago,

director Shashank

, who is well-known for his 'Krishna' series with actor Ajai Rao, had shared a small update through social media regarding his shooting experience.

The anthology film has been quite the trend of late in Indian cinema with filmmakers from Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and many other industries exploring the concept to great success. Films like 'Bombay Talkies', 'Crossroad', and the very recent 'Paava Kadhaigal' have offered new avenues to film producers who are now able to conceive unconventional content with minimum risk.

Very recently, with Rishab Shetty's 'Katha Sangama', the Kannada Film Industry too saw one such project come to fruition wherein seven different filmmakers (most of them being first-timers) conceived projects that were quite unique and idiosyncratic. With films like 'Pentagon', one could certainly expect the bar to be raised as far as interesting content is concerned. More updates regarding the film and its release to follow soon.
