After the corrupt politician Nograj and street smart auto driver Asghar,
Danish Sait is all set to take on a new avatar on screen. This time, he will be bringing alive his popular avatar Gopi, in a film titled
One Cut, Two Cut. This film will mark the directorial debut of comic and writer Vamsidhar Bhogaraju, and is being backed by
Puneeth Rajkumar.
"We are set to begin shooting for this film in February and plan to wrap up in a month, before I will have my IPL duties.
This is a story that took shape over the lockdown, when Vamsi and I were both working on different content. We concurred about how we need some good feel good laughs that were missing on screen," says Danish.
About his character Gopi, he says, "He is inspired from those teachers who would visit schools during my childhood and would teach origami and sell those kits. Gopi is one such origami teacher who is honest, innocent and earnest, and lives by his virtues in a crazy world."
Was Gopi - the caricature who became famous during the pandemic on Danish's social media - always in his repertoire? "The thing is these characters have all been with me and my closest set of friends have seen them. But, some of them take form and a name much later, like Gopi did during the pandemic. Among all my characters, he is the one who has taken the quickest transition," says Danish.
