After wowing audiences in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Vettaiyadu Villayadu, actor Daniel Balaji is all set to make a mark in Sandalwood films. The actor has signed BK Srinivas’s Dove, which will have actors Anoop Sa Ra Govindu and Aditi Rao in lead roles. In his Sandalwood debut, Daniel will be seen as the villain. “The makers saw a couple of my Tamil and Telugu films and contacted me.
They wanted to launch me in Kannada with this flick, but the fact is that I have already done a small role in
Kirataka earlier. This will be my first full-length flick, though,” says Daniel, a relative of popular director
Siddalingaiah. “I usually consult my uncle about Kannada projects that come my way. Sandalwood has several well-made films to its credit, so I am comfortable working in Kannada films. Moreover, the industry is very open to new talent,” adds the actor.
Daniel, who is fluent in Kannada, will dub for
Dove. “Be it any language that’s the first rule I specify in my contract. When I can speak fluent Kannada, why not?” he asks.
