Criminal case against Huccha Venkat
Following the comments made against father of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar on a live show organsied by a vernacular channel on Wednesday evening, a group of students and minority community organisations staged protest against Huccha Venkat by blocking Mysuru Road for more than 30 minutes.Meanwhile, a person has also filed a criminal case against Venkat under the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Act seeking action.

According to Yadanand KR, the complainant, he was watching a news channel where Huccha Venkat was called for live discussion. Huccha Venkat was asked to talk about the safety of women. Venkat said that rapists should be hanged. The anchor told him that there is no law to hang rapists in Indian Constitution.Venkat asked the anchor who framed the Indian Constitution.Anchor replied saying it was Dr Ambedkar. This is when Venkat made a derogatory statement against Ambedkar.
It is an insult for the father of Indian Constitution, we are not bothered about what question anchor asked, but Venkat should not have made such statement. So, I filed complaint against him. He made the statement at around 8.30pm. I rushed to the police station and filed a complaint immediately, Yadanand told Mirror.
On the other hand, Venkat's statement irked lot of backward community organisations.They formed a group and came to Mysuru Road along with 150 students of Bangalore University and staged a protest in front of the university entrance. They blocked both sides of the road by stopping the vehicles and demanded Venkat to be immediately arrested. Soon after, police rushed to the spot with to control the crowd.
According to the protestors, if police don't take action against Venkat, they will stage more protests in the coming days.
