‘Comedy Khiladigalu’ fame Rakesh Poojary’s final dance to ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ leaves fans heartbroken
Actor Rakesh Poojary, best known for his stint on Comedy Khiladigalu, tragically passed away on May 11 at the age of 33. The actor had travelled to Karkala in Karnataka to attend a friend’s pre-wedding celebrations, where he reportedly suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.
In a moment that has now become both touching and haunting, a video capturing Rakesh's final dance performance at the celebration has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter).
Rakesh was joyfully pulled into the centre of the gathering to groove to the popular track 'Aaj Ki Raat' from 'Stree 2', and the video has left many of his fans in deep sorrow. The anchor was calling his name through the microphone, urging him to dance to the track, while his friends cheered him on, eager to witness his energy and moves. He appeared a little shy at first but soon began dancing gracefully with his friends.
However, the night took a tragic turn. At around 2 am, Rakesh unexpectedly collapsed on the floor. Despite being immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors were unable to revive him.
Filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty paid an emotional tribute on social media following his demise. He wrote, “You are a wonderful artist—forever in my thoughts. Your role in the movie Kantara and the smile on your face while performing it will always be etched in my memory. This is an irreparable loss to the artistic community. Be born again, my friend. May your soul rest in peace. May God give your family the strength to bear this shock.”
He was seen in films such as 'Paliwan' and 'Itu Entha Lokavayya'.
His sudden demise has left a void in the entertainment community.
