Cinema is a pro people artform, says Kishore
As a widely accessible art form, cinema has the unique ability to reach diverse audiences and convey powerful messages. In a chat with us, Kishore Kumar G, actor and brand ambassador of the ongoing 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival, stressed the importance of utilising this potential for the benefit of all.
“We need to engage with cinema, as a pro-people art form. The theme of this film festival, A Garden of Peace for All People, is derived from a poem by Kuvempu. It calls for fraternity. This is something I wholeheartedly believe in. We must talk about this now. I thank the committee and the Karnataka government for prioritising it. The film selections, which highlight fraternity and constitutional values, reinforce this vital message. This country was built on those principles. The Constitution was written on those lines. These are the fundamental principles for everyone to live happily in this land. This land belongs to everyone, not to any specific group, sect, or religion. We must uphold these principles to ensure a safe land for everyone plus to ensure a safe land for everyone and for future generations,” he said.
‘AI is an interesting, yet potentially dangerous tool’ “We’re still in the early stages of AI’s introduction. We don’t know its full implications. But technology progresses, just like film cameras gave way to digital. Initially, digital cameras were met with skepticism. AI will take over some aspects. We’ll learn to adapt. It’s an interesting, yet potentially dangerous tool. The possibilities are quite concerning,” said Kishore.
