Chiranjeevi, who is also Union Minister of State for Tourism, will campaign for congress candidates in Kolar, Chikballapur, Bangarpet and other parts of Karnataka in the upcoming assembly elections which will be held on May 5. However, the dates are yet to be confirmed.
The actor turned politician, who was on his maiden visit to Bangalore, after he became Union Minister, has said, "On the request of central ministers Veerappa Moily and K H Muniyappa, I have agreed to campaign for the party candidates." Chiranjeevi, who expressed his desire to act in Kannada films, said he is waiting for the right script which conveys a strong message to the society.
He has starred in over 150 films so far. Chiranjeevi began his own political outfit - the Praja Rajya Party in the year 2008, before merging it with congress.
Chiranjeevi was seen in a special role in the super hit movie Sipaayi which had Ravichandran and Soundarya in the lead, the movie was released in the year 1996.
