Charminar’s success seems to have brought actor Prem back into the limelight. While he hasn’t signed up for anything new yet, the team behind a film that was stalled for a while is now gearing up for release. The film, Athi Aparoopa, earlier titled Januma Janumadallu, sees the actor paired opposite Aindrita Ray. Filmmaker Ramesh Yadav says, “This film has been in the making for a really long time.
But now after Prem’s recent release Charminar doing so well, we’re determined to release our film this summer. We are yet to shoot one song.” Sandalwood seems to have taken to Prem’s rising popularity after Charminar, much like how Ajai Rao’s career saw an upswing with Taj Mahal and Srinagara Kitty’s career after Sanju Weds Geetha. “I’m happy that people have accepted the film so well. Prem’s character required a lot of hard work, and the adulation from fans show the result of his efforts,” says the film’s director, R Chandru. The actor, too, is pleasantly surprised that his older movies are back in the news. “I’m happy that the film is being spoken about and seems to be back on course. Honestly, I am overwhelmed by the response that Charminar has generated. I have two films up for release —- Shatru and Chandra. With Athi Aparoopa also up for release, the year’s looking good,” says he.
