Recently, actor
Chandu Gowda revealed the first look poster of his film,
Dwepatra
, which is said to be a psychological
thriller
centred on a
serial killer
, in which he plays a cop. Directed by an accountant-turned-filmmaker, Srivatsa R, the film has a grim storyline and unique filmmaking process, which
Chandu
says makes it very different from his other work. “The story is serious and to keep that tone throughout the film, the director has done away with all the elements one would expect in a commercial film, like, for instance, the fact that there are no songs and no glam quotient,” says Chandu.
In fact, to avoid deviating from the main track, the narrative does not even involve a romantic angle for the protagonist. “It is a hero-centric film, but has no romantic song or scene, in fact my love interest gets killed right at the beginning,” he adds.
However, Chandu does add that the film team has tried to experiment a lot with the background music. “I heard the samples recently and really liked it. The film’s background score has been the team’s focus and a lot of work has gone into it,” he adds. The film, which is about 70% done, has been shot across locations in Bengaluru, Chikmagalur, Sakleshpur and Tumkur. “The director is still trying to explore more terrains and forest areas for the rest of the narrative,” says Chandu. In fact, the team had plans to shoot a scene in
Leh
as well. “But due to the pandemic and the lockdown, I am not sure whether that will happen now,” he says.
