R Chandru to make Anup Revanna's next
Director
The actor and his family are taking this setback in their stride and have reaffirmed their trust in Chandru's filmmaking skills. The director, we hear, is to make another film with Anup, based on an original script. 'It is still early days, but yes, we are committed to working on another project with Chandru. He has a good track record with original subjects. The focus will be on ensuring that the story is performance-oriented, instead of highlighting mass elements like action, song and dance. The plan is to make it as a Kannada-Telugu bilingual. I am currently working on director S Narayan's Panta, after which I will take a break. We will finalize finer details of the project with Chandru after that,' says Anup.
Chandru, meanwhile, is happy with the response to his film, considering that Kannada film audiences have warmed up to a newbie. 'I am currently gathering feedback about Lakshmana, and figuring out what went right and what went wrong with it. We now know what Anup's strengths are and will look at capitalizing on them in our next project,' says the filmmaker.

's launch pad for politicoHM Revanna
's son, Anup, may not have become the dream debut the young actor was hoping for, but he certainly has no regrets doing it. 'Lakshmana
, produced by Vatsala Revanna, was a good platform for me to showcase what I am capable of. The feedback that I got has been encouraging. In fact, the only downside to the film was that it was a remake of an 11 year-old Telugu movie. Audiences felt that the subject was too old for today,' says Anup. The actor and his family are taking this setback in their stride and have reaffirmed their trust in Chandru's filmmaking skills.
