Challenging Star pens a heartfelt note on Ambareesh's death anniversary

, Ambareesh had cast a strong impression on everyone who encountered him, especially those who worked alongside him during his four-decade-long career. And one such collaborator/ dear friend is the

Challenging Star Darshan

who remembered Ambareesh with a special note on the latter's death anniversary.

"We still fondly recall Appaji's (Ambareesh) caring nature and most attractive laughter. As a special mentor, he was always by my side through thick or thin. We all are terribly missing him today, on his death anniversary, and hope that his soul finds lasting peace," wrote Darshan in the tweet along with a memorable picture of the two.


Ambareesh was one of the biggest champions of Darshan's career who stood by the latter right from the beginning, including the days of struggle. Darshan too has remained a close companion and friend of the Ambareesh family and was an instrumental force during the pre-election campaign for

Sumalatha Ambareesh

in 2018. Sumalatha, a fellow actor, shared a heartfelt post in the memory of her late husband via social media.

Ambareesh passed away on the 24th of November, 2018, due to a fatal cardiac arrest. Having begun his career on a memorable note as Jaleela in Puttanna Kanagal's 'Naagarahaavu', Ambareesh tasted tremendous success as a lead actor through the '80s and '90s and established himself as one of the biggest actors that the Kannada Film Industry has seen to date. He was also a three-time M.P., representing Mandya.
