Celebrate the festive season with a clean family entertainer
They first collaborated nearly 12 years ago when K Manju produced Dayal Padmanabhan’s Yashwant, after which the two then worked together, albeit as producers on a couple of films in recent times. The desire to do another film has been strong, says Manju, adding, “Dayal is a fantastic technician and can make great commercial cinema, but was not getting the right support.

When the script of Sathya Harishchandra came along, we thought this would be the best option to get back together. Then we wondered whom to cast in the lead of a man who lies his way through every situation so well that it almost seems like the truth, and we thought that Sharan would be apt. I had worked with Sharan earlier, but not after he turned hero, and to our luck, he came onboard almost immediately, after which Dayal made certain changes to the script to suit Sharan’s image and body language,” explains Manju.
The film, produced by filmmaker under his K Manju Cinemaas banner, is a complete family entertainer and, as the sole Kannada release for the week, makes for a perfect movie outing this festive season. “A Sharan film always has a good dose of clean comedy, family emotions and great music. In fact, Sharan’s and music composer Arjun Janya’s track record of working together on pretty much every project continues with Sathya Harishchandra as well, and he has composed great tunes for us. Noted cinematographer Faizal Ali’s camera work makes the film a visual treat, especially the Portugal sequences, where almost half of the film is set,” says Manju.
