Carrying my mother’s name is how I honour her: Vijay Lalitaa Surya

Actor Vijay Surya has announced that he is changing his name to Vijay Lalitaa Surya. Speaking to Bangalore Times, Vijay explained, “This is a small token of appreciation for my mother, Lalitaa. She has worked tirelessly and sacrificed so much for my upbringing. While it’s common to include a father’s name, I wanted to honour my mother by carrying hers with me.”

The actor has not only changed his name but is also determined to shed his chocolate boy image. “In my new show, I have opted to essay the role of a rugged character, one that I’ve always wanted to explore in cinema. I got this opportunity on the small screen, and I gladly accepted it,” says Vijay.
