Santhu, as he is popularly known, has made a mark with films like
Alemaari
. With By
Two Love
, he broaches the subject of relationships in today's times with
Dhanveerrah
and Sreeleela playing the leads in the film that releases this Friday.
The quirky title has everyone intrigued. "The idea behind the title was that both the hero and heroine share equal responsibility in the love story. After a certain point, a couple shares every emotion in love, be it love, anger, hate or happiness. This is the core point of my story and I thought the colloquial term ‘by two’ best suggested this point. The relationship sees a couple donning multiple roles beyond lovers, but the idea is to share every aspect and move together," says Santhu.
The filmmaker adds that the story is based on his observation and research among couples he has interacted with in his life. "Today, people have become impatient when it comes to relationships. In fact, I am single and when I speak to my married friends, most tell me that I am better off alone. Why is that so? I always felt that companionship in marriage was good, especially when I saw relationships of the previous generations. Today, people do not have that patience to see things through. This story is based on what I have seen and observed around me and the result of that research is By Two Love," he explains.
