BS Lingadevaru next is based on the life of Hanagal Kumaraswamiji

Filmmaker BS Lingadevaru returns to direction after six years with Viraatpura Viragi, which traces the journey of saint Hanagal Kumaraswamiji. Suchendra Prasad will portray the role of Hanagal Kumaraswamiji.
Lingadevaru says, “Hangal Kumarswamiji is widely considered the second Basavanna in the North Karnataka region. He was involved in spirituality and social service at a very young age and a film about him can serve as inspiration for today's youngsters.We plan to shoot in Gadag, Annigeri and Shivaogi Mandira in Badami from September. Manikanth Kadri is composing the music for the film.”
On why he stayed from direction for such a long period after delivering critically-acclaimed movie Naanu Avanalla Avalu, Lingadevaru adds, “I was supposed to do a movie with Sruthi Hariharan, which did not take off due to various reasons. A new project was supposed to start last year before the outbreak of the pandemic, which was again put off. I will finish working on this movie early and release it at the earliest.”
