Bringing a complex character to life is very satisfying: Anita

Actor Anita Bhat says she faced significant challenges both in front of and behind the camera for her upcoming role in Ugrana, a Kannada film she’s both producing and acting in. “It’s one of the most challenging characters I’ve ever played; it has complex dual aspects, too. Bringing it to life on screen was incredibly satisfying. As a producer, managing the set without network connectivity and coping with unpredictable weather was both physically and mentally draining.”
Directed by Rishikesh, the film, which is being made in Kannada and Telugu and is set in the village of Ugrana in the Sagara region. It blends horror and suspense thriller elements. “We explore several mysteries that remain unsolved even today,” she says.
