Challenging Star Darshan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming Ambareesha with director Mahesh Sukhadare. But his schedule for the next couple of years is already firmly in place. Up next he has AP Arjun’s Airavata, which will go on floors on his birthday in February 16. Thereafter, the actor has an interesting project in hand. To be directed by
Raghavendra Hegde, the film called Jaggu Dada will see Darshan team up with scriptwriter
Yunus Sajawal, a long-time associate of
Rohit Shetty, who is credited with the script of
Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express. “It’s a comedy and will, as the title suggests, see Darshan play a rowdy,” says the actor’s filmmaker brother Dinakar Toogudeepa, who is looking at helming Darshan’s 50th film as hero under their home banner, Sarvantaryaami (Sanskrit for omnipresent), in 2016.
Darshan has also greenlighted a film with one of Dinakar’s associates, Chintan, who will turn director with the film Chakravarthy, to be produced by the same banner that made the Dinakar-directorial Sarathy.
