films are character-based series, and Crystal Paark Cinemas’ Case 1: Finding Vajramuni of the Birbal Trilogy that releases today is part of Kannada cinema’s first character-based series. After Srinivasa Kalyana, filmmaker-actor MG Srinivas received several offers to star in rom-coms, but he wanted to break away from the genre. As someone who says he’s always open to experimenting, Srinivas came up with the idea of a dark, crime thriller, which he wanted to make into a character-based series. Thus, the Birbal Trilogy took shape.
