Bhumika's loss is Sameera's gain

Producer Shankar Gowda's Varadhanayaka had gone on the floors in July 2011, but shooting for the film had to be stalled due to Sudeep's unavailability to shoot for his portions.
At one point, the buzz was that the actor was not doing the film, forcing the makers to call for a press conference and confirm that Sudeep was still on board the project, and that other commitments had kept him busy.Reports also suggested that Bhumika Chawla would make her Sandalwood debut opposite Kichcha. After a hiatus, shooting for the film has begun again.
'Sameera will do my film. There are some formalities to be sorted out, but otherwise it would seem that she's the one,' says Shankar. Why did he decide against Bhumika? 'I wanted an established actor, but someone who is new to Kannada cinema. Bhumika was to do my film, but then she did a song in an Upendra film, so I decided to find another actor,' he adds.
