Actress Bhoomi Shetty is all set to star in a social drama, Inamdar, that tells the story of two communities trying to gain supremacy in the 1990s.

, the film marks the debut of Ranjan Chatrapathi while actors Pramod Shetty and Ester Noronha will be seen in pivotal roles.

Bhoomi says, “I play a girl who belongs to one of the communities. I will be seen in as a tribal girl, something which I have not tried before. I will be wearing a saree without a blouse along with indigenously made embellishments, which is common among Adivasis. My costumes, my mannerisms and body language will be very different which sets this role apart.”

Revealing details about another movie, Vasanthi,

says of her character: “She is a hard-working girl, employed in a cashew nut factory in Kundapura. She faces many odds in life as her father is addicted to alcohol. She toils hard to eke out a living and ensures her brother gets an education.”
Was it a conscious decision to choose only female-oriented scripts? “I always wanted to do performance-oriented characters which is the ultimate for artistes. I am fortunate to get such roles so early in my career,” she signs off.
