Bharathi Vishnuvardhan to act in a Tulu film

Bharathi Vishnuvardhan's association with Mangaluru dates back to 1966. She shot for her debut ' Love in Bangalore ' on the beaches of Mangaluru. Five decades later, Bharathi will once again return to the city for another professional milestone ' to embark on her first Tulu film. Titled Amber Caterers, the movie will see the veteran playing a pivotal role as the matriarch of the family.
'While I was on the jury for the Bangalore International Film Festival, I had the good fortune of watching several Tulu films. For an industry that is so niche, I was impressed with the quality and themes that Tulu filmmakers conceive. So, when a director from the same industry came all the way to seek my presence in his film, I felt fortunate to be part of his project,' she says.
Another reason to do the film, shares Bharathi, is one that is extremely close to her heart. 'My late husband (Vishnuvardhan) loved Mangaluru. He also shot many films there and always appreciated Mangalureans, who are known for their warmth and hospitality. Shooting for this flick in the coastal city will help relive all our memories and the good times we spent there,' says Bharathi.
