Bengaluru girl
Amritha Aiyer, best known for her role in the Tamil flick
Bigil
, has been cooling her heels back home during the lockdown. But the young actress is rearing to get back to work and with all the news surrounding the second wave of the pandemic, she was sure that the best way forward is to keep herself safe, which includes getting vaccinated. Amritha recently got her first dose at a city hospital, along with her parents who got their second jab. in
The actress shares, "The second wave has been unsettling. I have heard a lot more stories of people contracting
COVID
, including among my friends. This was worrisome and I stayed away from venturing out after my shoots had ended and returned home to Bengaluru. This was when I decided to get vaccinated the moment I got a chance."
Before the lockdown last year and now, Amrita managed to finish shooting for two films, one each in
Telugu
and Tamil. "I shot for a Tamil film in Chennai, in which acted alongside GV Prakash. I also completed a Telugu film called Arjuna Phalguna, which is now in post-production," she says.
But why aren’t we seeing her in
Kannada
films? "I did begin shooting for my debut Kannada film
Gramayana
, in which I was paired with Vinay Rajkumar. But then tragedy struck the team, when the producer passed away. The film is currently stalled and we are not sure if it will be revived. So, my Kannada debut still eludes me. I am eager to have a Kannada release, though, since I am from Bengaluru," she signs off.
