Samarth Kadkol and Sripad Joshi, both alumni of Gogte College, have been working on the script of the film, which will be a thriller, for the past few months. “After working with Siddharth Roy Kapur, I started my own content commissioned company with fellow Belagavite Sripad. I have been in touch with Rishab for a few months. He shared the idea of his next film, and we have been developing a script for him. A couple of days ago, we met him again and he said, ‘Yes, we are doing this movie together’,” says an elated Samarth.

Speaking about the association, Rishab says, “Samarth first got in touch with me 4-5 months ago. The subject of my film was okayed, but dialogue writers weren’t finalised. So, I asked Samarth if he knew any Kannadiga writers in Mumbai. Sripad was a content writer in Paresh Rawal’s production house then. So, I bounced the story off Samarth and Sripad, and asked them to write a scene. I liked what they sent me. New people offer new ideas and dimensions, and that is what I am always looking for. What clinched the deal was that both of them are from Belagavi and I am planning a film set in

,” says Rishab.

But why a film in Hindi? “I never planned to make a

Hindi

film. When I approached a producer with my script, he asked me if I can make it in Hindi, and I said, ‘Why not’. And that was it,” says Rishab. So, will the film be made in

Kannada

as well? “It’s too early to say anything,” says the filmmaker-actor, signing off.
