Bar dancers need security: Kavitha Lankesh

On the recent SC order to bar dancers getting back to work from Monday, Kannada filmmaker Kavita Lankesh says, "From a woman’s perspective, I think it is good news, provided bar owners and police officials provide more security to the bar dancers. Though these professions are popular abroad, the dancers/performers get back to their normal lives once they are out of the venue.But here people view it in the same light as prostitution. At a time when molestation has become a common thing in cosmopolitan cities, security for women should be at the top of their minds."
