'Bagheera' box office collection day 8: Sriimurali's film collects Rs 53 lakhs

The Kannada action thriller 'Bagheera', starring Sriimurali, hit theatres on October 31, 2024, but has not performed as well as expected at the box office. Directed by Dr. Suri and written by Prashanth Neel, known for his work on hits like 'KGF' and 'Salaar', the film opened to mixed reviews and a modest box office collection.

As per the trade analyst Sacnilk, on its eighth day, 'Bagheera' earned approximately Rs 53 lakhs, bringing its total earnings to around Rs 17.03 crore in India. The film had an overall occupancy rate of 18.24% for Kannada screenings on November 8, with morning shows at 9.65%, afternoon shows at 17.59%, evening shows at 17.44%, and night shows seeing a slight increase to 28.28%.

While the film saw a promising start with Rs 3.05 crore on its opening day, it struggled to maintain momentum in subsequent days. The first weekend showed some growth with collections of Rs 3.3 crore on day two and Rs 3.50 crore on day three; however, it experienced a drop afterwards.

The plot is around a dedicated police officer who becomes a vigilante at night, fighting against crime and injustice in society. This dual life has led some fans to liken Sriimurali's character to a version of Batman, as the film includes darker themes and an action-driven story. Alongside Sriimurali, the cast includes Rukmini Vasanth, Prakash Raj, and Sudha Rani in significant roles.

Despite the initial excitement around its release, 'Bagheera' has faced tough competition from other films released during the Diwali season, such as the Tamil film 'Amaran' and various Telugu titles like 'Lucky Bhaskar' and 'Ka'. This competition has impacted its box office performance, leading to fluctuating audience turnout.
