Baby No. 2 on the way for Harshika Poonacha and Bhuvann Ponnannaa
Harshika Poonacha is expecting her second child with Bhuvann Ponnannaa, and as she speaks to us from her European holiday, the actor says she’s still soaking in the joy of another little miracle coming into their lives.
“I’m in my 16th week now, and it’s such a wow feeling. We never thought the universe would bless us with another one so quickly,” she shares. Due in the first week of September, this new chapter comes not long after their daughter, Tridevi Ponnakkaah, entered their lives.
“Life became magical when Tridevi came into our lives. Kids really do change you — they make you more responsible and fill your life with unconditional love,” she says.
It’s the little, everyday moments that make it all feel so special, Harshika adds. “The way my daughter loves and pampers me makes me feel so special and wanted. This is truly the most beautiful phase of my life," she says.
The couple chose a dreamy setting to share their happy news — right in front of the Eiffel Tower. “We wanted to reveal it there,” she says.
Beyond the joy, Harshika is also keen to challenge a common perception around motherhood. “Motherhood is beautiful — I wouldn’t tell someone they must choose it — but for those who feel it’s a burden or takes away independence, I don’t think that’s true,” she says.
She admits she’s heard her share of doubts. “A lot of people scared me, saying I wouldn’t be able to act again or get back in shape. But I don’t believe that. I’ve done it once,” she adds.
For her, the difference lies in support — and in believing that life doesn’t stop; it simply evolves. “I had a lot of help from my partner, and I’m confident stepping into motherhood again, especially because I have Bhuvann by my side.”
