— into fame and their characters have remained fan favourites. Hence, the sequel is eagerly awaited. Lead actor and producer
Milana
gets candid about why the film is the closest to her heart.
"To be honest, I never expected
Nidhima
's character to be popular to this scale. We knew that it will be the most-liked character in the film, but the acceptance and love she has received has surpassed all expectations. I'd say it was 100 times more than what we imagined. The love continues to date. It’s overwhelming," she shares.
Talking about her character in Love Mocktail 2, Milana adds, "All I can say about my character in the sequel is that I am there, yet I am not. So, I linger on throughout this film as well."
Considering the popularity of the first part, how tough was it to write the sequel? "From the time we began writing it, we knew that it would be very challenging. There are high expectations. When people watched Love Mocktail, there were no expectations. Now, there is a benchmark. We knew it would be a challenge, but we took on the task knowing this," admits Milana.
One thing that the actor assures us is that this film will be different from the first part. "People need to leave behind Love Mocktail to watch Love Mocktail 2. The first part was a story of school, college and finding now. This time, it continues with the story of
Adi
(Krishna’s character) without his wife. The tone and emotions are different, but we are trying to give whatever best we can. The film has come out very well and we are eager to see the audience's reaction," Milana adds.
The lead couple, Krishna and Milana, are married to each other in real life. So, how are things at home when it comes to balancing work and their marriage? "Krishna and I never detach from work, be it on the set or at home. Even more so off late, since promotions for the film are in full swing. As of now, Love Mocktail 2 is all that is on our minds," laughs Milana.
She quickly goes on to add, "It will be our wedding anniversary on February 14 and I would like no better gift than the audience accepting our film."
