Newbie filmmaker Adarsh H Eshwarappa’s Shuddhi has generated a lot of debate based on the real issues the film touched upon. One such was an ATM attack that had shocked a lot of people. On November 19, 2013, Jyoti
Uday who went to withdraw money at an ATM was attacked by an armed man. The incident, which was recorded in CCTV, created ripples across the country to such an extent that all the banks had to relook their security measures.
Jyoti got to relive that unforgettable incident, albeit this time through a film, when she watched Shuddhi at a city multiplex on Tuesday evening with the makers. She watched the film, which adapted the attack scene, with her family. While Jyoti said that it was a different experience altogether watching the film, she also lauded it, saying, “I personally feel that this is a good message-oriented movie and a must-watch. I request everyone, especially women, not to miss the movie.”
Adarsh was thankful that Jyoti made the effort to watch the movie and give her feedback. He said the ATM scene had been adapted in the film in a bid to create awareness on such gruesome incidents. The plot of the film highlights crimes against women in Indian society.
