Asha Bhat is seriously considering a career as a singer

Former Miss Supranational Asha Bhat is a fan favourite when it comes to her song videos. There have been multiple requests from fans that she put up more videos of her singing and even consider playback singing. The Roberrt actress is a trained classical singer and is now embarking on a new journey to showcase her singing abilities.


"I never took singing seriously, even though I have trained in singing for a decade. When I put up some singing videos on social media, people asked me why I wasn't doing cover song videos. This was encouraging and when I had some time on hand, I decided that perhaps it is time to put that thought into action," says Asha.
So what can fans expect from her? "I will be singing a cross section of my favourite songs from different languages, be it

, Tamil, Telugu,

Hindi

or English. I started my channel with a personal favourite,

. I have shot a few videos, which will be released in a staggered manner. I will then move to do a series of

Carnatic

and classical music as well, since there have been requests for those. I will also do some dance and martial arts videos," reveals Asha.


Asha says that she has been enjoying this process, which is keeping her busy. "I had lost touch with singing. The response to the songs have been good. I am using this process to get back to training and practice, as a singer needs to constantly keep at it. Who knows, if this opens a new door towards playback singing, then I'd be the happiest person," she laughs.


As an actor, Asha is busy with a few projects and only during certain periods, but by making videos of her songs, she gets to keep herself busy when she isn't shooting for films. For Asha, the new journey is also a chance to upskill. "This process is being done on a small scale -- with my own production house and another one. Since they are two-minute-long videos, I thought that I would try my hand at direction as well. This is a good learning process as I have got the opportunity to understand everything -- right from planning to production and even understanding composition. In case I want to do something on a bigger scale some day, this will definitely be a good learning experience for me," she shares.
