Actress
Archana Kottige has bagged a pivotal role in
Rachita Ram starrer
Shabari
, directed by
Naveen Shetty. The actress will be sharing screen space with Rachita Ram for the first time in her career, in a female-oriented movie which will begin shooting in Mysuru once the Covid cases reduce in Karnataka.
An elated Archana says, “There are many layers in the storyline. I will be playing an inquisitive
journalist
who wants to carry the legacy left behind by her father. My character adds a twist in the plot which will be revealed in the second half of the movie. This is the second time I am playing a journalist after my debut movie
Aranyakanda. It is not a conscious decision to portray the same role for the second time. I agreed to be a part of it because of the subject. I am excited to work with Rachita who has carved a niche for herself in the South Indian industry.”
The actress has also signed Jolly Life which marks the return of Sadhu Kokila to direction. She says, “I play the role of a college going girl who goes with the flow in life. It is a fun subject which will be a treat especially for young audiences.” She will also be seen in another college-based movie
Hostel Hudugaru Bekaagiddhaare, and
Bayaluseeme, which is set in North Karnataka.
