Filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli’s son

Apurva Kasaravalli

made his debut with the contemporary

Kannada

film

Niruttara

. He is now gearing up for his second directorial, a

Hindi film

. Called

Winter Bridge

, this film is set against the backdrop of the 1962 India-China war and will have Kannada actor Aryann Santosh in the lead. A leading lady is yet to be finalised.
Apurva says, “The film is a love story set against the backdrop of the war. Owing to the nature of the subject, we decided that Hindi would be the apt direction to go, as far as making the film went. The film follows the life of a postman who lives in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh with his newly-wed bride. He is posted in the town of Pura just after his wedding, which, incidentally, is the only post office close to the army camp there. On one side, the film follows the love story of this couple, while there is the war ridden area on the other.”
