movie debut with Acharya Arrest — a film that is based on the controversial murder that took place in

Kanchi Peetam

in 2004, The murder later led to the arrest of seer

Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati

. It is said that Anupam will play the role of

Shankaracharya

in the film, the tagline of which is 'an insult to every Hindu'.

It is interesting to note that Acharya Arrest will be made in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and

Malayalam

. The movie also throws light on the political conspiracy that led to the arrest of Shankaracharya.

The project is helmed by Srinivas Raju is slated to go on floors in October.
