Anant Nag says he often reminisces his childhood days, especially those that he spent in Honnavar. "My favourite memories are from the formative years of my childhood in Honnavar. My father had rented this place for us because this was 16 miles away from home and we were sent here for studies. I recall the days spent here very fondly. I studied in a Kannada medium school and would always figure among the top 5 in the class.
I was disciplined and hard working, like most children those days, where I was a part of ACC and then subsequently the
NCC. I always recall my days in Honnavar fondly by saying they were honninanthe amulya (as precious as gold). The days instilled a sense of patriotism and national pride and we got to see and interact with many national leaders too. When I later moved to Mumbai for higher studies, it was a completely different world filled with movie stars and an English medium school. From being in the top 5, I moved to the bottom 5 because of the change. These days also introduced me to my love for acting," he says.
