As AndhaDhun readies for release this week, here’s some interesting trivia. The film was actually conceptualised quite some years back and the first two drafts were jointly worked on by Hemanth M Rao and
Sriram Raghavan. “I had moved to Mumbai back then, where I wanted to become a scriptwriter. I approached Sriram and we connected well. In fact, I had approached him with Kavaludaari’s script to direct.
We had then begun working on this story. We worked on two drafts then and the second half didn’t convince us yet. Sriram then got busy with Badlapur and I got to make my own film with Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. I have since been busy here and with my own films. But I was among the few who watched the first rough cut of the film as Sriram wanted my opinion since I had worked with him on the initial drafts. What I have learnt under Sriram’s guidance has been invaluable and it has helped me be the person that I am today,” says Hemanth.
