Akshatha Pandavapura approached to play IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri in the biopic

biopic

have been rife for quite some time. Titled 'Bharatha Sindhuri', the film supposedly focuses on the bureaucrat's time in the Mandya region wherein her many endeavors as a public servant will be brought to the fore. In the same vein, several reports have also stated that former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Akshatha Pandavapura has been approached to play the role of Ms. Sindhuri in the film, although no official confirmation has been offered by the makers yet.

Speaking to ETimes Kannada about the prospects, Akshatha Pandavapura says: "I had learned sometime back that Krishna Swarnasandra sir had a story ready on Rohini Sindhuri and even had the 'Bharatha Sindhuri' title registered back in 2020. Krishna sir had apparently approached me around then but I was obligated to not take up anything until June of 2021. However, I had recently put up Rohini Sindhuri's picture as my Facebook DP which led to me being approached again. Sandhya Rani ma'am (writer of '

') had left a comment to the picture to say that if there's a Rohini Sindhuri biopic made at any point, I would suit the role perfectly and because of that, the post gained a lot of traction, including among news agencies. That's when the director (Krishna Swarnasandra) called me up soon after stating that coincidentally he was going to call me up again. He urged me to take up the role".

While there has been no formal contractual signing yet to confirm the news, Ms. Akshatha states that she would want to hear the team out before beginning any work on the project. "There is a lot of responsibility in playing a person of such stature. I would want to meet the director first and discuss in detail before preparing for the role as it will require a lot of time and effort on my part. As of now, I am only aware that the story will concern her journey as the Zilla Panchayat CEO in Mandya and her work towards promoting individual toilets and so on. Everything can be expected to begin post lockdown," says Akshatha Pandavapura who has previously appeared in films like '

Pinki Elli

' and 'Aa Ondu Notu'.
