Guru Deshpande and
Ajai Rao, who last collaborated on
John Jani Janardhan
, are back together. This time around, they are working on a subject that revolves around something close to both of them -- the film industry.
"The as-yet-untitled film deals with the journey of a middle-class guy, who rises up the ranks to become a
superstar
in the industry. It will showcase his personal life, his professional triumphs, setbacks and more. This subject is very close to my heart. I've wanted to bring it to the screen for a while, and it is finally working out. To keep it real, we are taking inspiration and instances from the lives of many of the current stars," reveals Guru.
Quiz the maker if this might rub stars and their fans the wrong way and he says, "We will have to deal with it if we want to showcase the truth. For now, Ajai is going to focus only on this film until the end of the year at least, as it requires him to physically transform himself for this part that spans over two decades. We are on the lookout for the main female lead right now."
