Ajai Rao bags Pichaikaran remake

One of the Tamil film industry's surprise hits, Vijay Antony-starrer Pichaikaran, is all set to be remade in Kannada.

has picked up the rights to the film and from the looks of it, Krishna Ajai Rao will be acting in the film. There was speculation about the casting, with Kichcha Sudeep believed to be one of the frontrunners for the role, but Ajai tells us that he will be doing it. 'When I watched the film, I immediately enquired about the remake rights. I got to know that Yogish had purchased it already. I spoke to him, and he said that he wanted Sudeep to do it. But, eventually, things turned out in my favour and he approached me. I should be starring in it soon,' he reveals.

Ajai, meanwhile, is doing another film, this time with Male director Shiva Tejas. 'The film is titled Dhairyam. It is a straight subject and is an action thriller. I've known

for a long time, in fact, since his Taj Mahal days, and we were supposed to work together earlier. I play an engineering student. It is a typical youthful boyish character and is going to be different for all the viewers,' he says.
