Aishwarya Rao’s next is a sports drama

Mysuru gal Aishwarya Rao, who made her Sandalwood debut with

Baddi Magan

Lifu, will next be seen in a female-centric

sports

drama, Sahara, written and directed by Manjesh Bhagwath.

Sahara

traces the journey of a young girl, who aspires to make a mark in sports. The makers, however, refrain from divulging which sport, to avoid speculation about whether the story is inspired by a real-life tale. The movie also has Ankush Rajath and Achuth in lead roles.

An excited Aishwarya says, “Girls living in metropolitan cities are following their dreams, whereas, in rural areas the scenario still has not changed, which we have tried to address in Sahara. I play Jayashree, who hails from a village and wants to make a mark in sports. But she doesn't get adequate support from her parents and friends. The interesting bit about working on this film is that while I play a regular girl in the first half, I need to tone up to sport the physique of a sportsperson. Considering that sports dramas are still rare in Kannada cinema, I am thrilled to be a part of a project like this."
