Varamahalakshmi

festival. Shooting for the comedy horror, directed by Anbu Urs who had previously made Soori Gang, had started on Varamahalakshmi last year.

Urs told Bangalore Mirror that he wanted to make a horror movie with a difference. 'Usually, horror movies are set in a spooky-looking home or in some forest. But Adbutha will be presented differently. The storyline will detail the journey of ghosts in search of love,' Urs said.

The makers had a very tight shooting schedule. They had set aside 50 days for the movie out of which 30 days involved shooting at night. 'Nearly 50% of the film's plot will take place at night. There are only two songs because we want to keep the suspense and thrill intact for the audience,' Urs said.

The team has submitted its final version for certification. 'This film has romance, suspense, thrill and, of course, the overriding fear factor. Adbutha is a supernatural thriller and has plenty of scares. It has been my longstanding dream to produce a horror film, a genre that seems to have caught the fancy of the Kannada moviegoers,' producer Chennaveere Gowda.

Ravindra who played a negative character in Urs' previous Soori Gang is making his debut as a leading male actor with Adbutha. Deepa Gowda is playing the female lead.
