Actress
Paavana
has wrapped up shooting her portion of
Kannadiga
, which marks her collaboration with
Giriraj BM
for the second time. The film also has her sharing screen space with
Ravichandran for the first time. About her character in the movie, Paavana says, “It is a coming-of-age character for me. When Giriraj sir offered me the role of Sankammabe just a few days before the shoot I had doubts about whether I could do justice to the character. Since I had worked with him in my debut film
Jatta
he had faith that I could pull off the role. Still, I had to prepare by locking myself in a room for four days. Now that the shooting is done, I hope I have done justice to the character.”
The actress adds that it was not difficult for her to get her traditional Kannada diction right. “Since
Kannadiga is a periodic drama, the Kannada spoken in it is that which is spoken by people in interior areas of Chikkamgaluru and Shivamogga. We used similar language in
Jatta, so I was at ease with the pronunciation.” As far as her look is concerned, Paavana adds, “I have worn sarees throughout the movie. The stye is quite similar to how Soundarya has drapes it in Dweepa.”
On working with Ravichandran, she says, “I was nervous while shooting for the movie. He made me relaxed and gradually he started complimenting me after every shot, which gave me the comfort zone to work without any inhibitions.”
