Bengaluru's very first Kannada Medium school, The Model High School in Chamarajpet, is currently on a steep decline. Founded in 1870, 1he 150-year-old institution has remained shut for three straight years on account of zero enrolments and as a result, has even missed its sesquicentennial (150th year) commemoration. Saddened by the state of things at the school, actor and activist Pranitha Subash has now stepped forward to offer support in aid of the school and its revamping through her home foundation and has also urged the government to step in.
Tweeting about the school's current condition,
Pranitha Subhash emphasized the fact that the school has been the alma mater of
Dr. Vishnuvardhan
and professed her sentiments over the matter. As reported by The Times of India, the historic school has got its name board wiped clean and what remains of it is faded and broken furniture inside. Now, to fix the condition in an attempt to reopen the school, Ms. Pranitha has offered help in any possible manner and tagged the C.M. of Karnataka,
