Ten strangers travel to an unknown destination, where they discover not just a new place and the people they are with, but also get to know themselves from within. That, in a nutshell, is just the beginning of what director KM Chaitanya’s next, Aatagaara, sets out to unearth. “The basic script for this story came up in 2007, but a couple of other films kept us away from working on this one.
We took two years to develop a plot that will not only entertain the audience, but will also keep them hooked. Ten people from different walks of life get on this big boat to head to an unknown island. When you are thrown in a situation in which you have to deal with a crisis, you stop trying to make an impression and your true self emerges. It becomes a journey of self-discovery for each of the characters. Ironically, each of these characters is so real that they are bound to remind you of someone you know,” explains Chaitanya.
