Director Athiraj is grinning from ear to ear these days and without a doubt, the reason for his smile is his new project Naran, with Poorna, Monica and debutant Agneeshwar in the lead. He says he is back doing what he loves most making edge-of-the seat thrillers.Unlike the regular thrillers, Naran is set in a completely different backdrop and the time factor plays a crucial role in the film, begins Athiraj.
What does Naran mean? Naran refers to a man. According to Hindu mythology, Narasimha avatar is often called Naran. Though there is no devotional or horror angle to the film, it is about how a man contacts supernatural powers, he says.
Though the film is said to have a nail-biting climax, it is packed with humour too. Says the director, Poorna and Ganja Karuppu will bring the house down with their comedy. While Poorna plays Jothikas fan, Ganja Karuppu, who is her muraimaman in the film, plays Simbus fan. Monica and choreographer-turned-actor Angeeshwar have a performance-oriented role. Dhina is composing the music and shooting will begin in the third week of August.
