Ranaranaka Movie Review

Raja, a happy-go-lucky youngster, falls in love with Rani, a student who has come to the city to study. After many unsuccessful tries, she falls in love with him, too. The two seem to be happily in love, but things fall apart when Rani returns home during vacation.

This film, featuring predominantly new names on screen, is as hackneyed as they come. The treatment and characters seem at least a couple of decades old. The film leaves one eagerly restless and sitting through till the end ends up no short of a gargantuan feat.

The acting, or mostly the lack of it, is another demerit. Shobraj seems to stand tall among a bunch of non-performers. Ranaranaka is best left aside.
