Heegondhu Dina Movie Review

An aspiring actress has her last chance to pursue her dreams and sets out for an audition. The film follows what happens in her life over the next two hours when she has to get to the audition.

This film is a different watch as it narrates a story almost as it happens over real time over a two hour duration. Vikram Yoganand has tried a different narrative style and he needs to be lauded as it could easily tire the viewer since the story unfolded through a narrative that doesn't really shift timelines. The film is an interesting watch but it does have its share of shortcomings.

There are umpteen times when people wonder about how eventful their lives are when things are not going in their favor and if it would make for a dramatic watch. Well Heegondu Dina is a tale that is based on such a premise, which follows all the misadventures in the life of an aspiring actress.

The film has a decent narrative and the director has tried to ensure a screenplay that more or less serves to engage the viewers. But the film loses its steam at the climax, where the desired emotions fall flat. Though, if you want to watch something that is hatke, this might be it. On a different note, one wonders if such films might have found a wider audience if they had a good digital release too.
