Plot: English Manja (Pramod) journeys through the life of a guy influenced by crime stories from a young age, hailing from a small town, who wants to make it big in the underworld
Movie review English Manja aka Manjunath shifts base from his village to Bengaluru to pursue his studies. His first encounter with the dark underbelly of this world occurs when he meets a local don, Venkatesh, who forcefully occupies his hostel room with some accomplices. Better acquainted with the don's no fear attitude, his dream to stamp his authority in the underworld starts becoming closer to reality.
As Manja continues to grow in the underworld, Venkatesh is jailed. Manja shifts his loyalty to another don Suri. Amid all the mayhem, Kamali (Thejaswini Sharma) enters, falls in love with Manja, which creates a stir among Manja and gang, adding a twist to the tale.
Director Arya Mahesh's attempt to churn out a mass entertainer with a subject as old as the hills fails to strike a chord. An underworld subject, entwined with a love story and a predictable plot and screenplay fails to evoke interest, falls flat. The songs also cannot save this film with a lacklustre script. Pramod and Thejaswini Sharma have done justice to their characters. Watch it only if you are a die-hard underworld junkie.
